FTA's Muwafaq Package Boosts SME Support and Tax Compliance

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the United Arab Emirates has reported a significant increase in demand for its Muwafaq Package, an initiative launched in March designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their business operations and tax compliance. This surge in interest was discussed during a Customer Council meeting in Abu Dhabi on June 7, 2023, where the FTA highlighted the package's role in encouraging entrepreneurs to adhere to tax legislation.

The Muwafaq Package offers SMEs a variety of services, incentives, and privileges aimed at simplifying tax compliance and fostering business growth. Accessible through the EmaraTax portal, the package includes benefits such as special rates on tax accounting software, appointments with tax specialists, exclusive packages from Tax Agents, priority in availing services, and educational workshops on tax procedures tailored specifically for SMEs.

This initiative is part of the UAE Government's broader efforts to enhance government service quality through direct engagement with customers and incorporation of their feedback into designing innovative service experiences. The Customer Council meeting, held at the Abu Dhabi Creative Hub, also focused on the objectives of the Customer Councils initiative, which seeks to establish a direct communication channel between the government and its customers, thereby enhancing service efficiency and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.
