Federal Tax Authority Introduces Convenient Corporate Tax Registration at Service Centres Nationwide

In a significant move to simplify tax compliance and broaden access to its services, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the United Arab Emirates has announced that taxpayers can now submit their Corporate Tax registration requests at 23 designated Government Service Centres spread across the nation. This development marks a pivotal step in the FTA's efforts to streamline tax procedures and ensure that taxpayers can easily fulfill their obligations.

The initiative, unveiled in Abu Dhabi on March 20, 2024, allows individuals and businesses to directly register for Corporate Tax via the "EmaraTax" platform, a comprehensive digital tax service that operates round the clock. Additionally, the FTA has made provisions for taxpayers to receive support from accredited tax agents, whose details are readily available on the FTA's official website. This dual approach aims to offer maximum convenience to taxpayers, enabling them to navigate the tax registration process with ease and efficiency.

The inclusion of Government Service Centres as part of the FTA’s registration network is a testament to the Authority’s commitment to expanding its service channels. These centres are equipped with electronic services that adhere to governmental standards and are staffed by professionals trained to assist with Corporate Tax registration. The move is designed to enhance the overall user experience and ensure that taxpayers receive guidance and support throughout the registration process.

Upon completion of the registration process at these centres, the accuracy of the submitted data is thoroughly verified. Following this, the FTA reviews the application internally. Successful applicants are then issued their Tax Registration Number (TRN) via email, marking the completion of their Corporate Tax registration.

This initiative is supported by a robust framework of cooperation agreements with various government service centres, all listed on the FTA’s website for easy reference. The Authority has also implemented several organizational and technical measures to ensure the efficient delivery of services through these accredited centres.

The FTA also reiterated the availability of Corporate Tax registration through the EmaraTax platform, outlining a simple four-step process that can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. This digital option underscores the FTA's commitment to leveraging technology to facilitate tax compliance and enhance the taxpayer experience across the UAE.
